Just like people, every dog is an individual. Each has a unique personality, motivations, preferred way of learning, and way of connecting with the world. Discovering what makes each dog tick and building a training plan around those strengths is where science meets art. That's what I love most about dog training.

Creating an exceptional dog is much like creating a masterpiece. It begins with genetics, but that's only the starting point. From there, it takes knowledge, patience, consistency, and a long-term vision that sees beyond today's training session. Every repetition, every success, and every challenge becomes another brushstroke in the bigger picture.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of training dogs from a wide variety of breeds for many different disciplines. My experience has taken dogs to the Invitational in NAVHDA, Regional Trials in NSTRA, Seasoned Test in HRC (Hunt Retriever Club) and helped develop countless hunting dogs at every level—from young prospects to seasoned companions. While those accomplishments are rewarding, what fuels my passion is something much simpler: watching the moment a dog understands, gains confidence, and forms a stronger partnership with its owner. Those small breakthroughs are what make this work so meaningful.

Although Bobby is the lead trainer and the expert on the method & solution to certain problems. Wild West Bird Dogs would not exist without Kayla. She is in charge of Social Media, Marketing, and organizing the chaos that is training dogs and puppies. In order for the dogs to succeed, organization is a must. She is the assistant for the advanced dogs being the second set of hands and feet that a good trainer needs. She shares the load on the puppy program with gun intro, bird contacts, and the basic obedience. All of which are the foundation for which great dogs are built on. As a guide she is second to none (even Bobby) She has hunted and guided all over the west putting dogs and people in the best situation to succeed. In fact she has guided in 4 states and been successful in each one. Her personality and expertise have a way of making each hunt memorable and one of enjoyment.

She has handled dogs in NAVHDA to max scores. She handles dogs in NSTRA field trials with a bunch of success she has multiple placements and open wins, even achieving an amateur champion.
